Near the California border, Brookings is known as being in the "Banana Belt" for its mild weather and is one of the warmer spots on the coast. After another night at Fort Stevens, it’s time to keep moving down the coast along Highway 101. Your first stop will be Seaside, a kitschy little beachside town reminiscent of many east coast towns. There is a large RV parking lot near the visitor’s center.
